Today, I had a free Pap smear at Femina in Katowice, performed by a young, yet very professional, tactful, gentle, and incredibly kind woman. The appointment was on time and in a very comfortable atmosphere, with everything explained step by step. I felt well cared for. Thank you so much!

I had an appointment for 8:15 a.m. for my next appointment, in my fifth month of pregnancy. When I arrived at 8 a.m., I was fifth in line. By 9:30 a.m., the doctor hadn't arrived. And it wasn't the first time I'd waited so long. Wanting to make it to a work appointment, I canceled and made an appointment by phone at another clinic, with the doctor who had treated my first pregnancy. At the reception desk, I asked for a copy of my medical records, to which the doctor replied that they wouldn't issue them now, but only in a week, because of their procedures. My arguments that this was illegal and that they needed a week to photocopy 3-4 pages were ineffective. My written request for the records didn't mention that I was refused a copy of my records that day, nor did they mention that I wouldn't receive them until a week later. When I loudly demanded they issue them immediately, the receptionists threatened to call the police. I left the room feeling upset, especially since I know the legal regulations in this matter because I manage NZOZ and am a lawyer by training. Only an intervention and a letter from the law firm of my attorney resulted in a solution. The documents were prepared for me the same day and I was informed by phone that they could be collected. The level of patient care is appalling; patients are treated as if they were complete idiots. I have no complaints about the medical care process during pregnancy. The rest is just like in communist times. I wonder if, when the National Health Fund (NFZ) comes to inspect them, they'll also make them wait a week for medical records.

Cytology is part of the program (covered by the National Health Fund). The receptionist was very friendly, and the woman performing the procedure was wonderful. She was born for this job – professional, competent, kind, and trustworthy. I highly recommend it. P.S. The office is modern and clean.

Today I went to my previously scheduled appointment for a fetal echocardiogram. After an hour-long drive, I learned that I wasn't scheduled for an echocardiogram, only for a second prenatal scan. My explanations were useless (that it was impossible because my prenatal scan was done three weeks earlier, and that was why I was referred for an echocardiogram due to an irregularity). The doctor scheduled my next appointment for a month, but I wouldn't be able to get one because they only do echocardiograms until 24 weeks, and I'd be 27 weeks pregnant. All I heard was, "You'll have to find another facility."
