  In January of this year, I gave birth to my son at the hospital in Knurów. I wholeheartedly recommend this place; I felt truly cared for during and after labor. It's a place where angels work. Both the midwives and doctors are deeply committed to their work. The midwives were always very kind, helpful, and very supportive. They always patiently and thoroughly answered all my questions, regardless of the time of day or night. They often offered encouraging conversations (I gave birth during a period when the hospital was closed to visitors due to a surge in flu cases). The support in establishing my milk supply was immense. Initially, I was convinced that, despite my desire, I wouldn't be able to breastfeed, but the women worked diligently with me, answered dozens of questions, offered a wealth of advice, and showed me various ways to encourage my newborn to nurse. They always provided breastfeeding advice, whether it was during the day or even in the middle of the night. I sincerely thank the entire team for their help, empathy, commitment, and immense warmth. I am very happy that my husband and I chose this hospital and if I have the opportunity, I will definitely choose the maternity ward in Knurów in the future.

  After the diagnosis and after receiving information about the start of oncology treatment, we were very apprehensive about this particular oncology ward, due to the seriousness of the situation we found ourselves in. Our concerns quickly turned into a sense of security, care, concern, and an honest and committed approach to the patient. This is all thanks to the entire team of nurses and doctors, primarily Dr. Rafał Kurzawa. As the doctor supervising my mother's treatment, which has been ongoing for 10 months, he consistently implements the entire treatment plan honestly and truthfully, giving us peace of mind about what's happening, what the outcome is, what lies ahead, and what's still to come. This makes patients, including my mother, feel safe. Throughout the entire treatment period, we never felt any doubt, wavering, or uncertainty, despite several complications and the treatment's arduousness. Furthermore, Dr. Kurzawa collaborates with outstanding specialists who, like him, approach patients honestly, respectfully, and with complete commitment. With a treatment as difficult as oncology, the atmosphere during treatment plays a huge role, and in this ward, the atmosphere is completely different from anywhere else, in a positive sense. Patients here feel valued, cared for, and at peace with their treatment. Thank you very much for all this. I wish everyone had the same attitude as you.

  Unfortunately, my labor didn't unfold in the atmosphere a woman in labor needs and expects. Right from the start, I was surprised by the fact that the midwife (Ms. Lucyna) sent my husband home, leaving me completely alone for most of the labor, without the support of a loved one and without a midwife present. I wasn't allowed to call for my husband until near the end of labor. I wasn't even asked about my birth plan or what my needs were. I felt like no one cared about how I wanted to experience this important moment. I lacked ongoing updates on my labor progress. I often asked for help—for example, with breathing, massage, or positioning myself during contractions—but I didn't receive it. Sometimes I was left alone for long periods, including in a closed bathroom under a hot shower, where I sat on a ball for over half an hour. Only later did I discover that the ball had clogged the drain, flooding the bathroom and delivery room. For me, this time was, above all, a moment of immense confusion and loneliness. The labor lasted almost 10 hours and ultimately ended in a cesarean section. Although I understand it was nighttime, I was the only woman giving birth that day and expected more support, presence, and responsiveness to my requests. During such an important, emotional, and demanding moment, a woman needs, above all, a sense of security, care, empathy, and constant communication—all of which, unfortunately, I was severely lacking, both from the midwife and the doctor (Ms. Ewa) who attended me during labor. When choosing a hospital, I was torn between Knurów and Gliwice, but unfortunately, I feel I chose the wrong one… After giving birth, the situation was completely different. In the ward, I experienced professional, warm, and committed care. Both the nurses and doctors were incredibly warm, attentive, and empathetic. I felt truly cared for, and both I and my son were cared for with such great care. This aspect of care deserves the highest praise. In particular, thanks to the lactation consultant, the nurses administering the medications, Dr. Kwaśnicka, and midwife Ewa Fojcik
