I trusted him with my first pregnancy, and it was a huge mistake. Not to mention the fact that when my husband and I went to see him with a positive blood test, I was told, "We'll see soon, you might have cancer," and quips like, "You're fat (I'm not even overweight), it's hard to see a baby through the fat." The worst part was that every time, even three weeks before delivery, he threatened me with not carrying the baby to term or giving birth to a stillborn. At every appointment, as if he'd had enough of his patients, he kept sending me to the hospital with bacteria in my urine. Once I was at the hospital in Plonsk, then the second time I went to the hospital where I later gave birth. After a re-examination, they determined the bacteria weren't as high as the tests had indicated and prescribed antibiotics. I gave birth in Warsaw, where I learned that half of my tests were missing, and even the ones I did have weren't described. I didn't even get the results of the Pap smear, just a phone call saying everything was fine. The doctor is considered one of the best gynecologists in Płońsk. Maybe he was when he was younger, but now, before retirement, he might simply not want to, but I found him now.

This was the first time I encountered such a lack of courtesy from a doctor. I was admitted to the maternity ward because I couldn't feel the baby's movements. The doctor told me I was obese and that was the reason for my admission. Demanding "what are you doing here?!" I explained that I had been admitted and was redirected by the doctor. To which the doctor replied, "We don't treat obesity here." I understand that the doctor may not be knowledgeable in dietetics and nutrition, but comments like, "You can try, but you need to eat less, not say you're trying," or "Who are you to be a smartass and speak medically?" Comments like, "If your husband were going to your mistress, would you tell him to try harder or leave?" The quintessence of this oddity were the words he said, when he saw me burst into tears, "I think I'll go now, because you're fed up with me." Unfortunately, I don't remember everything I heard, but I told him that if he had a problem with my stay, he should write me off, and I received more insults. I've been a healthcare professional for several years, but I've never treated my patients like that. We never know who our patients are or whether they have medical knowledge. Hence my low competence score. A gynecologist should also have knowledge of the basics of nutrition, especially during pregnancy. Unfortunately, there are significant gaps here. The information I provided regarding low blood sugar levels didn't stop the doctor from making snide remarks like, "The best diet is to eat less." His way of talking to a pregnant woman and his lack of interest in the patient's health, opinions, or anything else. Because of doctors like this, women in Poland are afraid to be pregnant, let alone parent. I don't know if the doctor would have shouted at me, "Hurry up, fat boy! You should have stopped eating so much, you would have given birth sooner." I don't usually comment on other healthcare workers, but today's situation will not go unnoticed.
