(Po Angielsku) Positives: The location is rather convenient for a variety of places: the centre of Gdańsk, Wrzeszcz etc. From my experience, the buildings are fairly well constructed and the public areas are well-cared for. Negative: Much is made of the proximity of new developments in Letnica to the sea. What developers are a bit more quiet about is how actual access to the sea (in the Brzeźno district) is a somewhat unpleasant experience. There are two ways for a pedestrian or a cyclist to get to Brzeźno: The first, and perhaps the most direct, is via Ulica Letnicka. This road is in a terrible state, has been in a terrible state for years, and - remarkably - will apparently continue to be in a terrible state until the various developers have finished building the new estates in Letnica (presumably so any new road will not have the strain of hundreds of cement trucks thundering up and down it); when will this actually happen? Perhaps within 2-3 years, which means that some residents of Nowa Letnica will have lived on the estate for around 7 years before an actual road is constructed by the estate! There're sections of this road where there is no pavement (chodnik) which makes it potentially dangerous with the aforementioned heavy traffic. In winter, the road routinely gets covered in mud and big puddles form on the uneven surface. A temporary pavement (tymczasowy chodnik) has been installed along part of Ulica Letnicka but in the spirit of 'one step forward, one step back', fences have recently been installed preventing the use of a commonly-used shortcut to Brzeźno across a single railway track. Seemingly local residents have expressed disapproval by removing sections of the fence that blocked this shortcut but the whole thing is typical of a lack of investment in the area for local residents. The second route to the sea is to Brzeźno is rather more indirect, going over the red bridge in Letnica and generally it's not a bad option for cyclists. A recently constructed utility road that goes parallel to the train tracks (which was proving to be quite popular for locals to use for dog walking, jogging etc.) has recently been blocked off by a fence. Great! As a side comment, there is a local park of sorts: Jezioro Zaspa. Again, it is neglected and the boundary between it being a place for locals to go on a walk and a place for mysterious trash fires to start is a blurry one. With a view to the future, things will certainly change in Letnica as the years go by: the incredible number of new buildings being built in the district (for example, Nowa Letnica alone will have 10 [!] 16+ floor buildings) will mean a huge number of residents and hopefully it will no longer be possible to neglect investment in local infrastructure. A possible worry is that in their enthusiasm to make as many buildings as possible, the city and developers won't be able to ensure that the place doesn't routinely get gridlocked by traffic.
